Frequently Asked Questions
unistart started at the University of Southern California, our alma mater. Despite the numerous entrepreneurship-focused clubs at USC, it was challenging to connect with fellow founders after graduation. There isn't a centralized directory of all the startups founded by USC founders, so we wanted to fill this gap and show people that career paths in entrepreneurship are possible. We made a public database of a hundred startups launched by USC founders. From there, we embarked on a journey to solve various other problems in university entrepreneurship communities, such as recruiting and getting early users.
We crowdsource a lot of our data. People can add their startup to the database by filling out a quick 2 minute form. We then manually verify each entry to ensure that we display the most accurate information.
